The artist wrote accompanying mythology for each Stupad sculpture:
“This hollow Stupad has four levels and an open top that invites confessions. People lean close, whispering remorse they cannot admit aloud. Each of its levels represents one of the four elements: earth, air, water and fire. These admit the regrets, break them down, cleanse and rebuild them into insights, the way a warm compost pile makes nutrients from decomposing organic matter. At night, the Whisper Vessel Stupad hums softly, emitting the stored murmurs as melodic lullabies. In moments of isolation, one can hold the Stupad to the ear. The hollow resonates faintly, carrying echoes from others performing the same act across distances. The resonations sound out like distant chanting, a chorus of shared solitude. Over time, the Whisper Vessel’s tone begins to resemble its owner’s voice, as though it has become a double of the self. Listeners often feel comfort in hearing their unspoken regret returned in a weightless form.” —Timea Tihanyi
