The artist wrote accompanying mythology for each Stupad sculpture:
“This Stupad has a sponge-like interior with two intersecting inner chambers. Press its bottom lightly to the chest while breathing in and out slowly as the Remaking Studpad draws out a deep and heavy sigh, absorbing it into its alveolar body. Some recall a feeling of relief, being lighter after this. Others say they become briefly unmoored, as if legs and arms have been traded for wings or as if the chest was inflated like a ballon with cool and light mountain air. Weightless. Healers working with the Remaking Stupad are known to take them to the highest mountain peaks where they spontaneously shatter under the low atmospheric pressure, releasing the accumulated sighs back into the world. It is a risky undertaking; the released pressure can puncture eardrums nearby as thousands of exhalations rush out in the instant of breaking. It has even been described that a hurricane can develop as the combined sighs release and remake themselves into fierce winds, returning to world to wreak havoc.” —Timea Tihanyi
