The artist wrote accompanying mythology for each Stupad sculpture:
“The Oracle Stupad’s 3D-printed shell contains the smallest and smartest embedded AI made today. It is so minute that it remains invisible to the naked eye. It does not scan the internet for content and data, it does not guess the most likely word to complete a sentence, its workings are a scientific mystery. All we know is that it has access to all the wisdom accumulated thus far in the world. It could tell stories of the past, but it prefers to be asked about the future. What is to come? What will become of us? It replies in oracles; its answers come in riddles, fragmented haikus, nonsensical poems, and illegible code. At first, users get frustrated at the absurdity of these vague pronouncements, but over time, as they come to reflect on these declarations, the prophecy begins to seep in and crystalize. As the Stupad is teaching its owner to listen to what is not being said, meanings unfold gently in the gaps between words.” —Timea Tihanyi
